Brush, Brush, Brush!

It is never too early to introduce your child to brushing their teeth. Brushing Teeth is an important life skill and the sooner children are introduced to the concept the easier it is for them to learn. At Le Hérisson we will be running a workshop on 20th March for the children in our Moyenne and Grande classes to encourage good dental hygiene. During the session they will learn the main causes of tooth decay and simple actions that can be taken to prevent the problem. The workshop also explains when a child’s primary (baby) and adult (permanent) teeth start to appear, and what you should do if a tooth is knocked out.

Encourage your child to brush their teeth for the recommended 2 minutes, twice a day, by downloading the“BrushDJ”app. This will play music of your choice while you brush and show the time counting down, ending with a smiley face!

Children’s Oral Health e-learning programme

Health Education England e-Learning for Healthcare (HEE e-LfH) has worked with the Faculty of Dentistry, the Royal College of Surgeons and UCL Eastman Dental Institute and Hospital to develop this new Children’s Oral Health e-learning programme. It is free to take the course online and provides information and advice about children’s oral health. It is aimed at parents, expectant mothers, early years healthcare workers, teachers, nurses, GPs and the public.

If you wish to take the course yourself you can access it here. It takes about 20 minutes to complete.
